The Monkey's Paw

Based on W. W. Jacobs’ classic supernatural short story, The Monkey’s Paw is a one-act opera by composer Brooke deRosa. The opera follows a family whose encounter with a mysterious, magical talisman sets in motion a series of increasingly unsettling events, forcing them to confront the consequences of getting exactly what they wish for.

Blending suspense, mystery, and supernatural drama, The Monkey’s Paw explores the dangers of temptation and the unpredictable consequences of tampering with fate.

The Monkey’s Paw premiered in October 2017 with Pacific Opera Project.
